| gloves | Birman special characteristic is white feet, called gloves, both in front feet and in rear feet. These gloves must be absolutely pure white colour. They must stop preferably in an even line across paws and third joint (wehre toes meet paws). Higher gloves are permitted on rear legs. Under the feet of rear legs, gloves end with a point. The perfect rear glove ends with an inverted V. Higher or lower gloves are permitted at condition that they do not reach the hock.It's important that gloves are of same length and show white symmetry at least between the two front legs and between the two rear legs. Much better if the symmetry is present in all four legs. |

| colour | It has all caracteristics known in colourpoint cats, but all feets are white (gloves). Coloured points include face, ears, legs, tail and genital zone. Points must be uniform and must create a good contrast with body colour. Body and stomach colour is light cream; back colour is golden beige in all varieties. Only in adult cats point colour and body colour are fully developed. |
