Orontea, or Tea as we call her, is quite simply the light of our lives. She is a very beautiful chocolate point born on 8 April, 2008. And we’re not the only ones who say she’s beautiful! On her 6-month birthday she won “Best in Variety ” in a feline exposition at Figline Valdarno. She was judged by the head of ANFI no less, and she lost nomination for her category to none other than a world-champion Main Coon cat. Not bad for her first beauty pageant!
We first met Tea at Stefania's home, a wonderfully warm and protective environment that is also home to Galy (Tea’s mother), Fio (Tea’s father), Ebby (Tea’s aunt), Nonna Stefania, and Nonno Alessio. Growing up in a home, rather than in a kennel, makes an incredible difference! At 6 weeks Tea was already well-socialized, exceptionally confident, and sweetly affectionate. In fact, she was so relaxed in our company that she fell asleep in my arms on the first visit.
Tea’s self-confidence and trust in human hands made it easy for us to get her acclimated to travel. In just less than a year, Tea has visited Palermo, Calvi (Corsica), Chicago, San Francisco, Wurtzburg, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Lugano. Her EU pet passport is filling up rapidly!
Watching Tea grow from an adorable kitten into a graceful adolescent has been very fulfilling and very satisfying, not to mention entertaining! We feel blessed that she chose us to be her human family, and we look forward to many, many more years of her unfathomable blue eyes, her silky-soft fur, and her irreplaceable presence.
